Five AL women candidates submit nomination papers

Awami League (AL) women candidates Wednesday submitted nomination papers for five women reserved seats in the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) to the Election Commission (EC), reports BSS. They submitted their nomination papers to Returning Officer Mihir Sarowar Morshed at the EC secretariat at noon on Wednesday, the last day for submission of nomination papers. The candidates are Journalist and Columnist Baby Moudud, AL Women Affairs Secretary Fazilatunnesa Indira, President of Chittagong Mahila AL (South) Hasina Mannan, Mahila AL Acting Secretary Pinu Khan and Joint Secretary of Jubo Mahila League Advocate Fazilatunnesa Bappi. Whip Mujibul Haque, AL Deputy Office Secretary Mrinal Kanti Das, Aminul Rasul and MI Talukdar, among others, were present on the occasion. As per the election schedule, scrutinising of nomination papers will take place on December 1, while the last day of withdrawal of candidatures is on December 7. Although the EC fixed the date of voting on December 26, no voting will be required as the applicants for the five women MPs are same.
