Five children drown in two dists

At least five children including two siblings were killed in lightning strikes in separate incidents in Jashore and Chapainawabganj districts on Sunday, report agencies.
In Jashore, two siblings drowned in a pond at Barpara village in Jashore's Monirampur upazila on Saturday.
The dead are Samia (4) and Sabid (3), daughter and son of Shahidul Islam Master of the village.
The two kids went missing while they were playing near the water body on Saturday morning, said ABM Mehedi Masud, officer-in-charge (OC) of Monirampur thana.
Later their family members, along with local people, searched for them.
Around 2:00 pm, they rescued the kids and took them to a nearby health centre where the doctor pronounced them dead, he added.
In Chapainawabganj, three children drowned in the Mohananda and Pagla rivers in Shibganj and Bholahat upazilas of the district on Saturday.
The dead are Pryanka (11), daughter of Rup Kumar, a resident of Kamarpara area under Ranihati union of Shibganj upazila, Md. Azizul Hoque (11), son of Subodh Mistri of Radhanagar Colony under Gohalbari union of Bholahat upazila and Md. Jihad (11), son of Abdul Kadir of the same area.
Azizul and Jihad drowned in the Mohananda River at Bozratek of Bholahat upazila as they went to the river for taking bath at 12:00 noon.
