Five Ctg journos get bail in DSA case

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 07 (BSS): A Chattogram court has granted bail to five journalists of Mirsarai and Sitakunda upazilas of the district in a case filed under the Digital Security Act (DSA).
Judge of Chattogram Cyber Tribunal Court Zahirul Kabir gave the bail to them on Wednesday.
The journalists are Sekander Hossain (Sitakunda Correspondent of Dainik Samakal), Enayet Hossain Mithu (Mirsarai Correspondent of Dainik Kaler Kantho), Mahbubur Rahman Palash (Mirsarai Correspondent of Dainik Jugantor), Md. Zahirul Islam (Amar Sangbad's Sitakundu Correspondent) and Mohammad Yusuf (Mirsarai Correspondent of Dainik Ittefaq).
Senior lawyer Ibrahim Hossain Babul, Chattogram District Public Prosecutor (PP) Sheikh Iftekhar Saimul Chowdhury, Md Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury Farukh, Nasir Uddin Ahmed Khan Roni and Redwan Uddin moved for the journalists.
Earlier on June 26 in 2021, Nurul Kabir Shah Dulal filed the case in the Cyber Tribunal Court Chattogram against the five journalists for sharing the news published in "The Daily Kaler Kantho" on May 22, 2021 under the title "Ora Protarak" on Facebook.
