Five dead, 20 missing in Bhola trawler capsize

A trawler (motorised large boat) with more than 100 passengers on board have sunk in the Meghna River near Bhola’s Manpura. Bodies of five passengers including that of a child were recovered from the spot of the accident on Thursday, OC of Manpura Police Station Humayun Kabir confirmed the accident. He said the trawler set off for Manpura upazila from Kalatali around 10:00am and sank within half an hour in heavy rain. “Most of the passengers were rescued with help from fishermen but around 20 are still missing.” Kabir said that the coast guard is searching for the trawler and those missing, according to bdnews24.com.
