Five die in ‘gunfights’ in three dists

At least five persons including two suspected drug peddlers were killed in reported gunfights in three districts Wednesday, report agencies.
Two suspected drug peddlers were killed in 'gunfights' in Chandpur and Mymensingh districts.
The latest count has brought the number of "shootout deaths" to 130 since the campaign against drugs began on May 18.
In another incident, three suspected forest robbers were killed in a 'gunfight' with police at the Maidakhesha canal in the Sundarbans under Koyra upazila of Khulna.
In Chandpur, Yunus Miaji alias Sumon, 35, was killed in a reported gunfight with police at East Sriramdi in the district town around 1:45 am.
In Mymensingh, alleged drug peddler Manik Mia, 30, was found dead at Klibari Char in Gafargaon upazila early on Wednesday.
The deceased in Khulna incident were identified as Akbar Ali, 37, Abu Sayed Morol Kalu, 47, residents of Koyra upazila, and Shahidul Mallik, 27, a resident of Rampal area in Bagerhat.
