Five get life in prison for 1998 murder in Narail

NARAIL, Sept 02 (UNB): A Narail court on Tuesday convicted five people and sentenced them to life imprisonment for killing a man during a robbery in 1998.
Narail Additional District and Session Judge Elina Akter handed down the punishment.
The lifers are Shahin Munshi, Akteruzzaman Babul, Selim, Nazrul Islam Mridha and Tezarat Mridha of Sadar upazila in the district.
Among them Tezarat was present at the dock while the others tried in absentia.
The court also fined Tk 10,000 each, in default, to suffer three-month more in rigorous imprisonment.
Poly Poddar, daughter of the victim filed a case with Sadar Police Station on the following day. Police submitted chargesheet against eight people.
