Five killed in B’baria road crash

BRAHMANBARIA, July 15: Five people were killed, when a pick-up van rammed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Soshoi in Bijoynagar upazila on Wednesday. Highway police said the accident took place in the area around 4:30 pm when the Dhaka-bound pick-up van from Sylhet hit the Madhabpur-bound CNG-run auto-rickshaw, leaving four CNG passengers dead on the spot and another injured. The injured was rushed to a local hospital where doctors declared him dead. Police recovered the bodies and sent them to the Brahmanbaria Sadar hospital morgue. — UNB
