Five killed in Narayanganj road accident

Five employees of a knitting mill were killed and another was injured when a passenger-bus and a microbus collided head-on at Ariabo on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway under Rupganj in Narayanganj Friday morning. The police and eyewitness said, the accident took place when a Narsingdi-bound passenger bus from Dhaka was taking a turn at Ariabo and collided head-on with a Dhaka-bound microbus of Rocky Knitting Mills at 6 am. The dead were identified as Shihab Uddin, Al Amin, Mizanur Rahman, Afzal Mondal and Babu. The police seized the bus, but its driver managed to escape the scene soon after the accident. The driver of the microbus was injured critically. He was sent to Dhaka for treatment. — BSS
