Five killed in road accidents in dists

SUNAMGANJ, May 15 (UNB): Two people were killed and another was injured in three separate road accidents in Biswambharpur and Tahirpur Upazilas on Friday. Sources said Samir Ali (55), of Anwarpur village in Tahirpur Upazila, was injured seriously in the afternoon when he fell down from a pick-up van. Doctors declared him dead when he was taken to the Upazila Health Complex. Meanwhile, Shimul Akther (30), wife of Manik Mia of Rajghat village in Biswambharpur Upazila, was injured as she fell down from a motorbike on the same day. She died at the Upazila Health Complex after admission. Another report from Thakurgaon says : A schoolgirl was killed and her classmate injured when a tractor hit them from behind near the bailey bridge on Sinua river in the district town Sunday morning. The deceased was identified as Purnima (12), a class VII student of CM Aiyub Girls High School and daughter of Jaleswar Bormon of Barungaon village in Sadar Upazila. BSS report from Brahmanbaria adds : Two people were killed and four others injured in a head-on collision between a tempo and a bus on Dhaka -Sylhet highway at Shahbazpur village point under Sarail Upazila of the district at noon today. The deceased were identified as Yesin Mia (60) and Shah Alam (40), of Hossainpur village under Bijoynagar Upazila of the district. According to eyewitness, police and hospital sources, one CNG run tempo loaded with six people was going to Brahmanbaria from Chandura bus station.
