Five killed in road accidents in Pabna

Our Correspondent PABNA, Dec 15: Five persons were killed in separate road accidents in Pabna Thursday. Two persons were killed and 15 others injured in a road accident at Shaidnagar on Pabna-Dhaka highway in Bera Upazila of Pabna Thursday morning. The deceased were identified as Monirul Islam, 24, of village Mewpara and Asadul Halim Galim, 38, of village Chakpara in Bera Upazila. A bicyclist was killed in a road accident at Ghoradha in Sujanagar Upazila of Pabna Thursday morning. The deceased was identified as Habibur Rahman Habib, 45, a worker of a handloom factory at Sujanagar Upazila. Police said a Pabna-bound speeding truck from Sirajganj dashed the bicycle from backside leaving Habib seriously injured. He succumbed to his injuries on the way to Pabna Medical College Hospital. In another incident a man was killed in a road accident at Charimary on Pabna-Ishwardi road in the district. Police said a Ishwardi-bound bus from Pabna dashed the man and he died on the spot. The deceased was identified as Jasim Uddin alias Fantu, 26, son of Abdur Razzak of village Boyra in Ishwardi Upazila.
