Five killed in separate incidents in Rangpur

RANGPUR, April 5 (BSS) : Five persons were killed in separate incidents at different places in the district during the past 24 hours till this noon, police sources said. Azizul Islam (14), son of Joynal Abedin of Mohendra village under Sadar Upazila in Rangpur allegedly hanged himself at home last night due to his mental imbalance and chronic diseases. In another incident, husband and other inmates mercilessly beat housewife Helena Begum (25), wife of Babu of Lalpur village under Fulbari Upazila in Dinajpur district. She was admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH) where she succumbed last night. Marjina begum (45), wife of Lalu Mistri of Haripur village under Mithapukur Upazila in Rangpur along with her grandson Lemon (7) were electrocuted to death when they were caught by torn electric cables during nor'westers there Monday afternoon. Adolescent Komela Akhter (15), daughter of Joynul of Zamirjan village under Pirgachha Upazila in Rangpur allegedly committed suicide by taking poison at home. Several unnatural death cases were filed in these connections with the respective police stations, the sources said.
