Five LGED staff members grilled

The Anti-corruption Co-mmission (ACC) interrogated on Monday five staff members of the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) in connection with a graft allegation raised against its former chief engineer Wahidur Rahman.
ACC deputy director Mir Zainul Abedin Shebly questioned them from 10 am at the ACC head office, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said.
The LGED staff grilled on Monday were Office Assistant in Nababganj Sheuli Aktar, in Dohar Mahmuda Aktar Nisha, in Savar Mariam Sadia Sinthi, in Ramgoti of Luxmipur Md Aminul Islam and Abdul Majid.
Earlier, the ACC received an allegation that LGED's ex-chief engineer Wahidur Rahman accumulated a large amount of illegal wealth abusing his power and initiated a probe into the allegation, according to a news agency.
The five staff members were asked about Wahidur Rahman's alleged corruption.
