In Chittagong, three alleged robbers were killed in a mob-lynching at Kotakhali village in Satkania Upazila Friday night.
Witnesses and police said a gang of armed robbers swooped on the houses of three businessmen in the area at about 9:30pm and started looting.
Earlier, the bandits locked the nearby mosque so that the people offering Tarabi prayers cannot come out of it.
Sensing the bandits' presence, the confined musallis (devotees) started screaming from the mosque's loud hailer saying 'dacoits', 'dacoits'.
Local people then cordoned off the area and caught three of the robbers, and gave them a tremendous thrashing, killing them on the spot.
