Five policemen closed in Khulna

KHULNA, Sept 26 (UNB): Five policemen, including an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of Terokhada thana Tuesday night were closed to the district police lines for negligence to duty.
They are ASI Abul Kalam Azad, constables Mithu Mia, Jasimuddin, Rezaul Karim and Deen Mohammad.
Police sources said an accused of a case, Phul Mia, fled away along with handcuffs jumping out from a police van while being taken to Terokhada thana Monday.
Later, local people caught the accused and handed him over to police.
Superintendent of Police AY Belalur Rahman took the action against five policemen following the incident.
