MANCHESTER (England), Jul 27 (AFP): England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff hopes to make his return following ankle surgery in Sunday's one-day friendly against Sri Lanka A at Liverpool.
Flintoff has been due to feature for Lancashire's Second XI in their three-day match against Derbyshire at Blackpool, but heavy rain forced the game to be called off without a ball being bowled on Wednesday.
Lancashire's side for the match against Sri Lanka A also includes Flintoff's fellow England pace bowler Sajid Mahmood and Australia batsman Brad Hodge.
The 29-year-old Flintoff missed both the Test and one-day series against the West Indies after his operation, his third on his left ankle, but hopes to be fit in time for England's one-day matches against India which begin next month.
