Flood and miseries of people

The worsening flood situation in Netrokona followed by heavy rainfall during the last few days has made the lives of people there miserable. Every year we experience floods in one place or another; but this time the situation is not good as news reports say.
Affected people need immediate help. Not only the government but people of all sectors should come forward and help flood affected people. The marooned people are suffering from shortage of cooked food and potable water.
Many people have become homeless and they need immediate attention. Many water-borne diseases may spread so it is necessary we ensure drinking water to the flood affected people.  Natural disasters are a regular phenomenon in our country and people of Bangladesh are very resilient. That is why despite repeated natural disasters this nation remains firm.
