Flood situation may improve today

Flood situation in Rangpur, Lalmonirhat and Nilphamari districts is likely to improve from today (Tuesday), as water level of the Teesta River may fall. It may flow below the danger level at Dalia and Kaunia points in the next 24 hours - starting from Monday evening. Mehadi Hasan, Duty Officer and Assistant Engineer at Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC), said people in low-lying areas of the three districts may get some respite, as the rivers in those areas may fall in the 24 hours.
