Flood situation worsens in Netrakona

Heavy rainfall over the last few days and onrush of water from upstream hills worsened the flood situation in eight upazilas of Netrokona district, leaving about 0.1 million people marooned. The flashflood submerged some 250 villages under 65 unions in the eight upazilas -- Durgapur, Kalmakanda, Barhatta, Purbadhala, Atpara, Mohanganj, Madan and Khaliazuri, according to a news agency.
