NILPHAMARI, Aug 24: Fly ash at the Baropukuria Coal Mine worth hundreds of thousands of taka are being wasted as there are buyers of the by-product. Fly ash is an important component for producing cement and it constitutes around 20 per cent of the composition.

Sources added local cement factories are facing problems in importing fly ash from India while there is abundant supply of it locally.

Sources further added if the fly ash of Baropukuria Coal Mine could be used in the local cement factories it could save the country from spending valuable foreign exchange for importing it.
