Foreign Minister (FM) Dr Dipu Moni has reiterated Bangladesh's commitment to ensuring peace, security and development in the region.
"We are committed to building a nation based on knowledge and driven by result-oriented policy," the FM told the inaugural function of the 15th Diplomatic Course in the city Thursday, reports BSS.
The FM said the present government has taken initiatives for improving bilateral ties with all countries of the region. "Our foreign policy is -- friendship to all and malice to none," she said.
Dipu Moni also said the present government is also working relentlessly for brightening the country's image by raising various issues relating to the people of the region.
"Our foreign policy also underscores the need for more foreign direct investment to create more employment and increasing quality and quantity of our exports and seeking investment and market access both bilaterally and multilaterally," she said.
In the last one decade, Dipu Moni said, terrorism and extremism have emerged as the biggest challenges for the world. "To face these challenges, Bangladesh has marshaled its own resources," she said.
