FM hopeful of stronger ties with Thailand

Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali on Thursday said the just concluded Foreign Office Consultation and the next Joint Commission Meeting between Bangladesh and Thailand will bolster the existing bilateral relations between the two countries in different areas in the days ahead.
He made the remark when visiting Thai Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs Norachit Sinhaseni met him at his ministry in the afternoon, a news agency report said.
The 7th Joint Commission Meeting between Bangladesh and Thailand will be held in Dhaka in November next.
Mahmood Ali has requested the Thai Permanent Secretary to convey his invitation to the Foreign Minister of Thailand to attend the Joint Commission Meeting.
During the meeting, the Foreign Minister congratulated the Thai government for holding the special meeting on the management of irregular migration in Bangkok on 29 May this year, and also for successful completion of Foreign Office Consultation for the first time with Bangladesh in the morning.
