FM lauds Ameerah Haq\\\'s role at UN

Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali highly praised Sunday the role Ameerah Haq played in her long career with the United Nations, reports UNB.
"We're very proud of her for the success she showed in various capacities at the UN. Ameerah Haq is a dexterous daughter of Bangladesh," he said.
Mahmood Ali said the changes that take place in UN positions are their internal issue, and he does not want to make any comment on that.
The Foreign Minister said Bangladesh always plays a stronger role at the UN and it will work to maintain that trend.
UN Under-Secretary-General Ameerah Haq is resigning from her position as head of the Department of Field Support of UN Peacekeeping Mission from October. Haq who joined the UN in 1976 has held the above position since 2012.
