Fog blankets parts of Bangladesh, colder days ahead

Monday, 22 December 2025

Fog enveloped parts of the country, including the capital, Dhaka, with the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecasting that the condition will persist for several more days, particularly in the northern and western regions, reports bdnews24.com
Meteorologist Md Toriful Newaz Kabir told bdnews24.com on Sunday afternoon that fog was likely to intensify in the coming days, especially over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Khulna divisions.
"As fog delays the arrival of sunlight, the daytime temperature in these regions may feel 1 to 3 degrees Celsius lower," he said, adding that the sensation of cold could increase during the day.
According to the department's 120-hour forecast issued on Sunday, the weather across the country is expected to remain dry with temporarily partly cloudy skies over the next five days.
On Sunday, night temperatures were forecast to remain nearly unchanged, while daytime temperatures could drop by 1 to 3 degrees Celsius. Moderate to dense fog may form in parts of the country from midnight through Monday morning.
Today (Monday) both night and day temperatures are likely to remain almost unchanged. Moderate to dense fog may again occur in some areas from midnight to Tuesday morning.
On Tuesday, temperatures may decrease slightly across the country.
