Fog halts ferries

Dense fog has been disrupting movement of ferries and other watercraft on the Shimulia-Kawrakandi route in Padma River since Wednesday night. Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) sources said, due to the dense fog, the marking points and the beacons could not be seen and so ferries from both ghats (terminal) had been forced to anchor on the middle point of the river. However, the normalcy returned in the important waterways after sunrise on Thursday, according to a news agency.
