Foisting poetry
Friday, 1 April 2011
Shaikh Saleque's article in your daily on March 29 is about bureaucrats foisting poetry on the public! Small wonder we call bureaucrats CSPs, because they can: "Charidikay Samlatey Parey!" The range has now been extended to poetry too! Do we call them 'Poetaucrats'?
Possibly they only churn out lines that rhymes, not poetry as such! Slightly modifying the first sentence of the write-up; we may state about "Poetaucrats" and poets that: "Some are born poets, some achieve poetical abilities; while for some poetry is thrust upon them!" The last type being the Poetaucrats, who could possibly be those birds in the flock of 'Bureaucratic Babus,' that we see everywhere!
As stated by the writer; 'Bureaucrats,' use 'drum beating' when they turn into 'Poetaucrats.' For becoming that they need 'Drum-petanocrats,' a new brand of drum beaters; emerging from CSPs (earstwhile), BCSs and successors to CSPs! Their swan song could be:
"Drum ar Drum
Dum Maro Dum
Kabitar bajar gorom
Amader ebar agomon
Drum-petanocrat-gon"
Hope they have an "Onushtan" soon, with Poetaucrats and their allies; the "Drum-petanocrats" entertaining the crowd with their brand of poetry and drum beating! No more circulars, memoranda and notices; it will all be done by 'gan' and 'dhol pitano'!
