Folk singer Baul Karim Shah passes away

Legendry folk singer Baul Karim Shah died at his residence in Kushtia  town this (Tuesday) morning. He was 90. Earlier, he had been admitted to Kushtia Medical College Hospital with asthma problems on April 24 and later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for better treatment. After receiving treatment at the DMCH, he went back to his home district Kushtia on Saturday. He breathed his last at his house at about 8:30am. Baul Karim Shah received prestigious Ekushey Padak in 2011. In a condolence message, Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor expressed deep shock at the death of the singer. He also prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family members, according to UNB.
