Follow BB example of free job application
Monday, 16 May 2022
Unemployment in Bangladesh, especially among the educated, is increasing day by day. Even after getting the highest degree from the university, millions of youths have to pay a hefty fee for applying for jobs in public and private institutions. This is naturally an extra burden on them. On an average, an educated jobseeker applies for at least three to four jobs per month. For this, they have to pay at least Tk 4,000 as application fees, which most applicants cannot afford. Many of them do not get any support from their families and therefore take to tuition for arranging application fees.
It is, however, great to learn that the Bangladesh Bank has recently invited applications for the post of 225 Assistant Directors (General) without any fee from the jobseekers. We could not appreciate it more. It is not impossible for a number of government organisations to follow suit. It will be of great help to the jobseekers. We urge every organisation--- both public and private--- to follow the central bank and make arrangements for the jobseekers to apply for jobs free of cost.
