Foodpanda to ensure health safety amid virus outbreak

Thursday, 26 March 2020

As COVID-19 continues to spread across the country, online food delivery platform, foodpanda, has promised to ensure health safety measures for their customers, restaurant partners and riders.
The company has been proactively reaching out to riders on preventive measures for coronavirus and, at the same time, encouraging customers to use online payment options through their debit or credit cards to minimise contact, said a statement.
Contactless doorstep delivery is being used for customers. This allows riders to place food delivery orders at designated spots such as in front of customers' homes or office premises.
The riders have been provided with facemasks and hand sanitisers while their temperatures checked daily at the hub offices before commencing work.
foodpanda has also partnered with Lifebuoy to give hand-washes to all riders and restaurant partners to ensure regular hand washing both at work and at home.
In a recent statement, Ambareen Reza, CEO foodpanda Bangladesh, said, "foodpanda is committed to the wellbeing of their partners and will continue to monitor the situation.
