For shifting SSC, HSC exams

Thursday, 23 April 2009

The first public exam, the Secondary School Certificate (SSC), has an undeniable importance for students. So, they usually want to accomplish best as they can March and April, being hot and humid, are far from suitable for the SSC exams. Moreover, due to load shedding, students cannot sleep well at night. It can distract them. It is also the season for natural calamities like cyclones and storms. A large number of people including examinees suffer from diarrhoea throughout this period.
In December and January, most schools and colleges remain closed due to SSC and HSC exams. Most rural schools send their benches to the exam centres, and the teachers go there as invigilators. So no exams are held for the students of these institutions.
It would, therefore be better to hold the SSC and the HSC exams. simultaneously as some of the schools, having college sections, remain closed for the SSC and the HSC exams.
I would, therefore request the education minister to shift the exams from March-April to December-January.
