For the improvement of power supply

Tuesday, 18 November 2008

THE existing transmission system, dilapidated as it is in many points, disrupts power supply off and on. The lack of repair and maintenance of the transmission system remains a major cause for frequent power outages in many places of the country everyday. A substantial replacement and upgrading of the transmission system, it appears, could go a long way in reducing the nagging problem facing the consumers. But corruption must be whittled down first to get any benefit out of the expenditure for repair and rehabilitation.
The overhauling and maintenance of the generation units must be completed very quickly under close supervision of the top people in the relevant ministry.
