Forces orientation confce takes place

A forces orientation conference to strengthen military-media relations was held at Dhaka Cantonment on Thursday.
Principal Staff Officer (PSO) of Armed Forces Division (AFD) Lieutenant General Md Mahfuzur Rahman was the chief guest of the programme, held at AFD multipurpose hall. Director General of Intelligence Directorate Brigadier General Monirul Islam Akhand moderated the function.
A number of journalists attended the conference. It briefed about the activities of the armed forces in building the nation and in different disasters as well as in upholding the image of the country abroad.
It said media is the primary tool to shape up public perception, and it can play the most effective role in upholding the reputation of any organisation, including the armed forces.
Lieutenant Colonel Abu Rubel Md Shahabuddin presented a paper on Bangladesh Army on the occasion, while two other officials made two separate presentations on the navy and the air forces.
While presenting activities of Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR), its director Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Rashidul Hasan said the process of redesigning ISPR organogram is in the final stage.
He said there will be two zones in the proposed organogram - the west and the east. A proposal comprising 95 personnel for the organisation is in the final stage.
"We may see the changes within a year," he added.
The high officials of Army, Navy and Air Force along with media personnel also had a photo session in front of the AFD HQ.
