Foreign investigation teams risk national security, says Nizami

Raising the vital issue of national security Jamaat chief Matiur Rahman Nizami Wednesday accused the government of divulging secrets of the border security force to foreign agencies in the name of investigation into the February 25-26 massacre in BDR Headquarters in the city, reports UNB.
FBI of USA and Scotland Yard of Britain had been invited and secret information of national security divulged to them, alleged Matiur Rahman Nizami.
He said the government has endangered the security of the country by leaking out secrets of BDR, the border security force, to the foreign agents.
Nizami said this while speaking at a conference of Jamaat district Ameers at Al-Falah auditorium in the city Wednesday, which was organised to mark launching of a month-long mass contact programme of the party. Chiefs of 78 organisational districts took part in the conference.
Questioning the efficiency of FBI and Scotland Yard the Jamaat leader said the agencies could not ensure law and order in their own countries.
He also questioned the wisdom of inviting the foreign agencies and expressed doubt that the government had certain purpose behind it.
Referring to the investigation into the BDR carnage Nizami urged the government leaders and those concerned with investigation to refrain from making sweeping comments before the task is completed. Nor they should implicate anyone in the carnage for serving political purpose.
Nizami viewed the nation was passing through a crisis. "Shun the blame game. It's high time to consolidate national unity to protect independence, Islamic values and education," he advised the politicians.
He said Jamaat always stood against so-called Islamic militants and for protecting the country's sovereignty.
