Foreign investors keen to invest in Nilphamari

NILPHAMARI, Nov 28: A view exchange meeting attended by Atiqur Rahman, President, Bangladesh American Chamber of Commerce was held in Nilphamari recently. Held in the office of Nilphamari Chamber of Commerce and Industry and presided over by NCCI President Abdul Wahed Sarker the meeting was attended among others by the chief guest Atiqur Rahman, local entrepreneurs and elites of the town.
While speaking in the meeting Atiqur Rahman said that some investors of developed countries including USA, Canada and Singapore are interested to invest in agro-based industries in Nilphamari and they already visited the district including Uttara EPZ and good location, cheap labour and abundant agro products attracted them.
He particularly mentioned that potato, ginger, tomato and leather based industries have good prospect here and in this respect he sought the co operation of local people.
Among others Sadar Upazila Chairmen Zainal Abedin, District BMA president Dr. Momtajul Islam, District Diabetic Association Secretary Dr. Majibul Hassan Chowdhury, ex-President of NCCI Sohel Pervej, Press club President Shamsul Islam participated in the discussion.
