Foreign office endeavors to promote tourism engaging foreign envoys

The foreign ministry has put in its endeavor to promote tourism industry engaging for the first time Dhaka- based envoys of different countries with state minister Shahriar Alam leading them to a three-day trip to Cox's Bazar, reports BSS.
"The envoys and heads of missions of 20 countries and international organisations are now travelling to Cox's Bazar on a three-day familiarisation tour at the invitation of the foreign ministry," a foreign office statement said on Tuesday.
It said Alam was leading the envoys in the tour which was organised as part of initiatives to promote tourism industry and attract foreign investment for the sector.
The high-profile delegation reached the sea resort town of Cox's Bazar on Monday while apart from enjoying the scenic beauty of the world's largest natural beach they are also set to visit places of other attractions and business installations in the area.
"They will visit the Ramu Buddhist monastery, the hatchery and the fish landing and processing zone of Ukia's Senpara apart from Cox's Bazar and Inani beaches," the statement said.
The envoys now participating in the three-day mission included the ambassadors and high commissioners of Russia, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, The Maldives, The Netherlands, Turkey, Malaysia, Myanmar, North Korea, South Korea, Indonesia and Sri Lanka.
