Foreigners do not have faith in EC: BNP

Foreigners do not have faith in Bangladesh’s Election Commission, the BNP has said. The comment comes after, an EC project-- Strengthening Election Management in Bangladesh-- that was being funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), was terminated eight months ahead of schedule. “We believe, it is an expression of our foreign friends’ distrust over this government’s election system,” said BNP spokesperson Asaduzzaman Ripon Saturday.   The UN agency Thursday said the donors UK, US and EU had pulled out their funds for the programme. The BNP, which boycotted 10th national election after its demand for neutral government was unheeded, also called for the resignation of election commissioners, according to a news agency.
