Forex packed in 3 sacks, luggage seized in city

Customs Intelligence officials seized a big amount foreign currencies from an apartment in the city’s Naya Paltan on Thursday. Tipped off, a team of Customs Intelligence Department, aided by Detective Branch (DB) of police personnel, raided a residence-cum shop in an apartment building in the area recovered three sacks of foreign curency on Thursday evening. They also seized a luggage full of foreign currencies around 6:00pm. The foreign exchanges included US dollar, Saudi Riyal and Euro. When contacted, Director General of Customs Intelligence Department Dr Moinul Khan confirmed seizure of a large amount of foreign currencies in Dhaka, saying details about the incident will be disclosed later, according to a news agency.
