Forex reserve 2nd largest in S Asia: BB governor

The foreign currency reserve of Bangladesh is now the second largest in South Asian, Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Atiur Rahman has said. “Our foreign currency reserve is now the second largest in the south Asian countries,” the central bank governor said while talking to journalists in Tungipara in Gopalganj district on Friday. He said the foreign currency reserve of Bangladesh is now US $ 19.5 billion, about 15 billion more than that of Pakistan. At present, Pakistan’s foreign currency reserve is only US $ 4 billion, he said. The economy of Bangladesh is now stable, he said after paying tributes to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at his mazar, according to UNB.
