Forex reserve crosses $26b

Foreign exchange reserve at Bangladesh Bank (BB) has crossed US dollar-26-billion, setting a new record. The central bank said on Monday that the foreign currency reserve is around $26.03b. On June 25, forex reserve at the BB crossed US $25-billion for the first time. The central bank also said the reserve can meet 7 months’ import expenditure. It further said that the country’s economy can face any kind of internal and external shock. It said the reserve significantly increased for the positive trend of remittance inflow and controlling unnecessary imports, according to a news agency.
