Form body to probe all killings, disappearances: Khaleda

Thursday, 22 May 2014

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Thursday demanded formation of a commission to investigate all the incidents of killing, forced disappearance and abduction taken place recently across the country. She came up with the demand while addressing a press conference at her Gulshan political office in the city after a views-exchange programme with the family members of those who fell victims to the recent killings, forced disappearances and abductions. Khaleda urged the government to form the probe commission headed by any former chief justice, and include noted media persons, lawyers, personalities and human rights activists in it. Branding the incumbent government as illegal and people-isolated one, Khaleda said, “If the government hangs onto power, it’ll be dangerous for the country and the nation. So, the quicker the government goes the better for the country.” She demanded immediate resignation of the government paving the path for a fresh fair election with the participation of all political parties, according to a news agency.
