Formal charge against Noni, Taher Dec 4

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 on Thursday set December 4 for submitting formal charge against Obaidul Haque alias Abu Taher and Ataur Rahman Noni, Razakar leaders of Netrokona. Today was fixed for submitting the formal charge against the duo, but prosecutor Mokhlesur Rahman Badal sought more time in this regard. Justice M Enayetur Rahim, chairman of the three-member panel of ICT-1, then deferred the date till December 4. Earlier on November 13, the investigation agency submitted the probe report against them to the prosecution. The agency has found evidence of their involvement in the killing of over 500 unarmed civilians, arson and looting in different places of Netrokona during the War of Liberation. Police nabbed them within hours after the first tribunal issued warrants for their arrest following a prosecution plea in August, 2014, according to BSS.
