\\\'Formalin imports fall\\\'

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed on Tuesday told parliament that formalin import has marked a significant fall over the years as only 55,173 kgs of the chemical were imported last year. In reply to a tabled starred question from Sanjida Khanam MP (Women seat-24), the minister also said some 1.07 million kgs of formalin were imported in the last four years by 38 mills and firms. Of the 38, five are pharmaceutical companies and the rest included steel mills and other others, according to a news agency.
