Formalin mixed dates, grapes destroyed

KHULNA, Aug 3: BSTI -Khulna conducted a drive at Boyra Cold Storage of the city Tuesday and seized of formalin mixed 2500 kgs dates and 100 kgs of grapes. Tk. 20,000 was fined to the owner of the commodities. On a secret information a BSTI team led by Executive Magistrate Alimun Razib raided the Boyra Cold Storage at Khalishpur of the city at noon on Tuesday and found huge quantity of dates and grapes mixed with formalin of Boro Bazar of the city. One killed Another report adds: One person was killed and three other injured in a road accident at Kharnia area under Dumuria upazila of the district on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Soleman Gazi (30) son of Wahab Gazi of village Madhugram. The injured are Liton, 27, Swapon, 26 and Rabeya Begum, 55. Police and local sources said that a Khulna bound passenger cbus dashed a Nasimon (three wheeler) loaded with passengers coming from opposite direction at Kharnia area on Khulna-Satkhira highway. Solemna, a passenger of Nasimon, died on the spot.
