Former dy-minister Dulu produced before court

RAJSHAHI, June 12 (UNB): Former deputy minister for land Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu was produced before a court here Tuesday on charge of patronising militancy.
After hearing the case, Additional District and Sessions Court Judge M Jahirul Haque fixed June 17 for framing charge against the accused and ordered the authorities concerned to send him to the Central Jail in the capital.
Earlier in the day, the once-powerful BNP leader of Natore was brought here from Central Jail, where he was detained after arrest in the capital by the army-led joint forces enforcing the emergency rules.
Ayub Ali, a resident of Polashi village under Bagmara Upazila-once the stronghold of JMJB militants-filed a case with police on April 1 this year against 30 persons, including former minister Aminul Haque, Dulu and former lawmaker Nadim Mostafa, accusing them of patronising the militants.
Dulu was arrested during the anti-corruption crackdown by the caretaker government and kept in Central Jail.
Aminul Haque and Nadim Mostafa are on the run.
