Former education minister ASHK Sadeque expires

JESSORE, Sept 9 (UNB): Awami League (AL) leader and former education minister ASHK Sadeque died of cardiac arrest at his Keshabpur Upazila headquarters residence Sunday morning. He was 78.
Family sources said the veteran politician, who came here alone Friday afternoon from his Gulshan residence in Dhaka, felt chest pain at about 7:45 am and died shortly.
He left behind his wife, one son and daughter and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death. His son and daughter have settled in America.
His first Namaj-e-Janaza was held on Keshabpur Eidgah premises at about 11:40 am with several thousand people attending it.
Family sources said the body of Sadeque would be kept at a mortuary in Dhaka until the arrival of his son and daughter from America.
