Former MP M A Latif on two-day remand

CHATTOGRAM, Dec 18: A court in Chattogram has placed former member of parliament (MP) for Chattogram-11 constituency MA Latif on a two-day remand in a case over an attack on protesters during the anti-discrimination student movement in the port city's New Market area.
Metropolitan Magistrate of Chattogram-3 Md. Alamgir Hossain passed the order after a hearing on Wednesday.
Public Prosecutor Mofizul Hoque Bhuiyan confirmed the matter.
He said the investigation officer of the case sought a 10-day remand. "After reviewing the arguments, the court granted a two-day remand for MA Latif", he added.
On August 17, MA Latif was arrested by Double Mooring Police from the Bayezid Bostami Shrine Gate area.
