Former NSC chairman dies

Former chairman of National Sports Council (NSC) and ex-director general of Bangladesh Rifles Major General (retd) Sadiqur Rahman Chowdhury died of prolonged illness at the Combined Military Hospital in the city Monday night at 11:30 pm. He was 69, reports UNB.
He left behind his wife, two daughters and a large number of well wishers to mourn his death.
He was laid to rest at the Banani graveyard Tuesday afternoon with full military honour following his Namaj-e-Janaza at the Mohakhali DOHS Jame Mosque after Zohr prayers.
In a condolence message, NSC Chairman and Bangladesh Army Chief General Moeen U Ahmed has expressed his deep shock at the demise of Major General (retd) Sadiqur Rahman and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
