Former state minister Faezul Huq dead

Former State Minister for Jute AK Faezul Huq died of cardiac arrest at Baridhara United Hospital in the city at 7pm Thursday, family sources said. He was 64. Faezul, son of Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Huq, is survived by his two wives, three sons and four daughters as well as a host of relatives and admirers. Advocate by profession, Faezul Huq was also a columnist and he was elected Member of Parliament in 1970 from Banaripara-Swarupkathi constituency) on Awami League ticket. He was made state minister for jute when the Awami League returned to power in 1996. —UNB
