Formulate proper planning to utilise internal resources

Says industries minister

Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun has laid emphasis on formulating proper planning to best utilise the country's internal resources, reports BSS.
"In the context of existing global and regional geo-economic volatility, we have to concentrate on formulating a proper planning to best utilise our internal resources," he said.
The minister made the comment when the Board of Directors of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) led by its President Ashraf Ahmed called on him at the industries ministry in the city on Monday, said a press release.
Mentioning that there are a lot of unused plots in the BSCIC industrial areas across the country, the minister invited the businessmen, especially SME entrepreneurs, to invest in those plots.
Recognising SMEs as the lifeline of Bangladesh's economy, he said the government will continue to arrange necessary trainings and skill development activities, promote utilisation of technology and take steps for market expansion.
Taming inflation and keeping the local market stabilised in the upcoming Ramadan are the most priority tasks now, he said, adding that the government is actively working on the issues.
He requested the business community to help the government in this regard.
During the meeting, DCCI President Ashraf Ahmed expressed DCCI's willingness to fully support all the initiatives taken by the Ministry of Industries.
He also expressed his keen interest in working on issues such as Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), productivity and adaptation of modern technology so that businesses get more competitive both in local and international market.
He also called for expansion of BSCIC industrial area to speed up industrialization in the country.
