Forty shops gutted in Kishoreganj

At least forty shops were gutted in a fire that broke out at a local market in Mithamoin Upazila in Kishoreganj on Sunday. Local people said the fire originated from a mosquito coil at a shop at the market around 12:30pm and soon engulfed the adjoining area, burning down 40 shops, including 8-10 makeshift shops. The fire was doused by the local people after two hours of frantic effort. The affected shop owners claimed that the loss caused fire in terms of money would be Tk 10 million, according to a news agency.
