Forum of Consuls in Bangladesh elects office-bearers

Salahuddin Kasem Khan, honorary consul general for Turkey in Chittagong and Asif A Chowdhury, honorary consul for Chile in Bangladesh, have been elected chairman and secretary general respectively of the Forum of Consuls in Bangladesh for the 2008-2009 term.
The election was held in the first general meeting of the forum held recently at the BRAC Centre in the city.
AKM Shahidul Islam, honorary consul for Malaysia in Chittagong, and Badrul Huda Khandker, honorary consul general for Tunisia in Dhaka, have been elected vice-chairmen while Neaz Ahmed, honorary consul for New Zealand in Bangladesh, has ben elected treasurer.
Members of the Forum include: Mohammad Shahjahan, honorary consul for Maldova in Bangladesh, Syed Mahmudul Huq, honorary consul for Malta in Chittagong, Anwarul Huq, honorary consul for Greece in Dhaka, M Abdul Haque, honorary consul for Djibouti in Dhaka, and Sayeeful Islam, honorary consul for Brazil in Bangladesh.
